My first job out of law school was in a Crown Attorney’s office prosecuting cases in one of the busiest courts in the region. Most of my cases involved drug possession and trafficking, DUIs, domestic violence, and major traffic offences. I tried over thirty cases in that relatively short span of time. It was a great job and I learned a lot about trying cases and how juries think.
In the dozen or so years since serving with the Crown Attorney’s office, I have maintained an active criminal defence practice. My experiences have varied greatly defending professional and “white collar” defendants as an associate at a large law firm and then serving as court-appointed counsel for indigent defendants as a solo and small firm lawyer. I handle:
