Growing up on the Arden Ridge, tromping through the scrub brush and gravel pits of Lake Agassizi’s former shores, Waddell developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty around him. In a home with no television and lots of books, his love of writing was inevitable. His early love for singing influenced by long walks in the woods, working in the garden and singing in choirs.
Working at auction sales for his father, Rob enjoyed connecting with the diverse range of people he encountered; their stories and tall tales providing his earliest influence in lyrical expression.
Waddell feels compelled to explore the how and why of, well, almost everything. His walk through life is reflected in his lyrics, as he finds his own truth in a world he finds funny, painful and wonderful all at the same time.
