Biography
Growing up on the Arden Ridge tromping through the scrub brush and gravel pits of prehistoric Lake Agassiz’s former shores gave him lots of time to develop a deep appreciation for beauty. In a home with no television and lots of books his love of writing was a natural result.
As the younger child of a very musical, back to the land mother, his love for singing was influenced by long walks in the woods, working in the garden and singing in the choirs and festivals he performed in when he was young. Working at auction sales every weekend for his father, he developed a love for people of all ages and backgrounds. It was their stories and tall tales that were his earliest influence in lyrical expression
Waddell feels compelled to explore the how and why of what he enjoys as well as mistakes he’s made as he walks through life. His lyrics have become an inevitable outworking of what he finds to be true while he examines the world he finds so funny, painful and wonderful all at the same time.
